In the 21st century, it is almost impossible to leave technology aside. Smartphones and digital platforms have become so popular that people rarely exchange more than a few words on a daily basis. The era of conversations via Whatsapp, photos immortalized on Instagram, thoughts written in 140 characters on Twitter and shared activities on Facebook almost decreed the end of the personal touch of previous generations. Bytes are moving so fast that even twenty-somethings are struggling to keep up with the latest news. Although it may seem cold and boring, this Matrix-style way of living has actually revived childhood friendships and given rise to a movement full of little faces and icons that overflow us with feelings - who doesn't love to sprinkle a beating heart in moments of passion or to send a rose to someone special? But even with the right emoji, nothing replaces seeing, feeling, tasting, smelling and hearing. These are the five qualities that make a person a special being, many steps ahead of the most modern machine ever invented. The cyber world merely copies expressions without ever interpreting them, which is why it is increasingly essential to press “airplane mode”, deconstruct posts in long chats and instigate the looks that are downcast. “Unplug” became a verb and ended up in the dictionary in many languages, somewhat awkwardly in the face of these people who are so connected, but with an enormous need to return to social life. It is with this hi-tech detachment that we invite you to dive into the Trousseau universe, without sockets, without Wi-Fi and with plenty of energy to provoke smiles and contagious sensations.
